Saints Gregory the Great, pope of Rome & Basil the Great

Some there are who in open speech confess their faults, and yet in confession know not how to weep, and say lementable things rejoice. Wherefore if any destesting his faults speaks, it is necessary that he speak thus in the bitterness of his soul, and that this same bitterness punish whatsoever the tongue accuses by the judgement of the mind.
